If you are an author, editor or reader, click on the above link to find out more about this upcoming event. Schmitt is aiming for the little kids and Pierpoint is writing for the middle school crowd.  Both writers are getting rave reviews.  For authors, editors and readers their stories of how they made it in today's publishing market is inspiring.  Worth the trek to Topanga.

"To boil water, must add heat." - Sensei Yamaguchi + Sensei James Field, Shotokan Karate Instructors

After writing a scorching hot grant application to the folks over at the Goldhirsch Foundation, we were flummoxed…and kind of amused…when they passed on our project in under thirty-six hours; that's got to be some kind of record.

Our next step will be to select a fiscal sponsor to house our new non-profit. To that end, we have applications in place at a number of venues.

Once we have committed to the right entity and have a GO, we will pursue additional funding opportunities.

In the meanwhile, the great side effect of writing a grant is focusing on fitting our known budgetary needs into the constraints of the possible and articulating our vision for the first year's work in print.

To quote genius karate instructors Sensei Yamaguch and Sensei James Field: "To boil water, must add heat.'

We are adding the HEAT.

A good idea takes follow through.

We're in this for the long run.
